6 crab apples (gala works as well)
12 oz. organic caramel
2 tbsp. water
½ cup chopped nuts (we used almonds)
½ cup granola
¼ dark chocolate chips (melted)
Combine caramel and water in a small saucepan over medium heat and melt, stirring occasionally.
While caramel is melting, wash apples and dry them thoroughly. Insert a popsicle stick into the top of each apple, along the core.
Place toppings in small bowls and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Then, once caramel is fully melted transfer to medium glass bowl. The caramel needs to cool slightly before dipping.
Dip apples into caramel, making sure to coat evenly. Allow excess to drip off into bowl.
To add nuts or granola, place apple into bowl of selected topping before caramel sets.
Place apples in the refrigerator for at least an hour to set.
To add chocolate, use a fork to drizzle melted chocolate chips once the apples have been refrigerated.
