PR + Marketing Coordinator Role Description

Location: Santa Monica, CA                       Status: Full-Time        Start Date: Immediately

Position Scope:  The PR + Marketing Coordinator will be work closely with the Marketing Director in the planning and execution of programs that build the brand online and at retail.  In addition, this key role serves as the eyes & ears providing critical intelligence on our consumers, category, and company performance. 

Major Responsibilities: 

  1. PR /Influencer Outreach: Coordinate and assist in public relations planning and execution (e.g. write press releases, pitches, make sure materials are up-to-date and available, manage outside PR firm)
  2. Partnerships/Promotions: Coordinate, implement, & evaluate brand building projects (e.g. strategic co-promotions for social media)
  3. Loyalty Programs: Identify, execute and manage loyalty programs (e.g. Foodstirs’ Insider Group)
  4. Events/Trade Shows: Identify, coordinate and represent the company at events that build the brand and create awareness. Drive additional exposure from events by networking, promoting on social media.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field
  • A minimum of 2 years marketing experience within the consumer package goods or PR/Marketing agency is required
  • Strong planning, organizational, project management along with excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication and presentation skills, including full competence with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)
  • Proven Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively

Lead Baker/ Pastry Chef

Location: Santa Monica, CA                       Status: Full-Time        Start Date: Immediately

Position Scope: We are seeking an exceptional person for an extraordinary opportunity. You will be a key member of our team as lead baker/chef creating and ideating recipes that are best in class, Insta and Pinterest worthy for both content and product development.

Responsibilities

  • Create and lead the development of new recipes and baking kit product innovation
  • Responsible for baking and overseeing production of baked goods for the company including sampling, events, and in-store product demos
  • Create and execute recipes for blog and social media content
  • Collaborate with marketing team to create assets using recipes created
  • Collaborate with operations team on scaling up recipes for full scale production

Requirements

  • Dynamic, diverse individual who is passionate, resourceful, and thinks creatively about baking
  • Comfortable on camera for Foodstirs social media channels (Insta Story, FB Live, etc)
  • Experience in creating/producing baked goods and pastries of exceptional quality
  • Knowledge and experience creating/producing substation for products (i.e. vegan products)

  • Graduate of a recognized and accredited culinary arts program.

    Business/Operations Internship

    Location: Santa Monica, CA                       Status: Part-Time       Start Date: Immediately

    Position Scope: The Foodstirs internship program is ideal for someone who is interested in furthering his or her education and experience in the world of Business Management, Supply Chain, and Entrepreneurship. This internship will provide exposure to various aspects of business operations that includes, but is not limited to: Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Manufacturing, Reports and Analytics.

    Duties + responsibilities:

    • Work with team members to support purchasing, procurement and supply chain management
    • Document standard operating procedures to meet operations growing needs
    • Communicate with suppliers to source new ingredients and support upkeep of regulatory paperwork
    • Work with accounting and finance to support data mining and upkeep for reports and analysis
    • Work hand in hand with operations team to maintain inventory and manage logistics

      Status: 10 – 20+ Hours/Week

       

      Compensation: Unpaid; Course credit

      Requirements:  Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Program at an accredited college or university with emphasis on Business Management, Supply Chain, and/or Entrepreneurship.

      Knowledge, skills, + abilities:

      • Self-starter who is comfortable with both taking initiative and working in collaboration. 
      • Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.

          Sales Manager- Western US

          Location: Santa Monica, CA                       Status: Full-Time       Start Date: Immediately

          Position Scope:  The Sales Manager, Western Region will work closely with the national sales director in the planning, management, and execution of Retail Sales for this part of the country.

          Major Responsibilities:

          • Planning: Support building of annual trade promotion calendar for region across retail customers
          •  Identifying and executing on opportunities to expand the sales of Foodstirs within multiple retail channels throughout the Western Territory plus Regional Distributors (Market Centre) and E-tailers (Amazon Fresh, Good Eggs, Thrive, etc.), which includes working with Foodstirs broker and distributor network to maximize sales and distribution opportunities
          • Managing all appointed brokers and distributors to achieve quality distribution in targeted accounts, including ensuring timely execution on new item introductions, schematic implementation and promotional programming and that they have all necessary resources required to succeed in the market place (e.g., product samples, sell sheets, promotional calendars, etc.)
          • Developing and monitoring incentive programs, contests, etc. in order to keep Foodstirs top-of-mind
          • Ensuring that all related POS (e.g. secondary displays, shelf talkers, on-pack coupons, etc.) are ordered in the right quantities and utilized effectively in the marketplace. Requesting and analyzing distribution reports to determine market coverage and opportunities for future growth
          • Conducting store audits (with broker management and/or field sales reps where possible) to ensure merchandising standards are adhered to and promotional programming is being executed
          • Identifying and attending trade shows and sampling opportunities to represent the brand and develop sales opportunities

          Account HQ Responsibilities include: Market Centre, Sprouts, Albertsons/Safeway (SoCal, NorCal, Seattle, Portland and Phoenix Divisions), Raley’s, New Seasons, PCC, Haggen, Harmons, Lucky’s/SaveMart, Bristol Farms, Lassen’s, Gelsons, Jimbo’s, Mother’s, Lazy Acres, Erewhon, Hucks, Yokes, Sherms, Super1, ION Group, Chuck’s Produce, Market of Choice, Etailers (including Amazon Fresh, Thrive, Good Eggs), Bartell Drug.

          If bandwidth and experience allows, taking over the TX/AR/LA/OK territory that includes HEB, Central Market, United/Market Street, Rouse’s, Reasor’s, Brookshire’s and Brookshire Brothers would be ideal.

          Essential Qualifications for Success at Foodstirs:

          Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field

          High-level experience in the Food Industry (Whole Foods, Sprouts, NCGA, INFRA, Safeway, Kroger, Ahold) with CPG selling background in dry baking mix and center store spaces highly preferred

          Established relationships and demonstrated success working with key retail accounts along with the leading brokers and distributors (UNFI, KeHE, Market Centre, etc.), servicing these channels

          Strong planning and organizational along with excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication and presentation skills, including full competence with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)

          Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively

          Demonstrated ability to excel in a hands-on, fast-paced entrepreneurial environment

          Highly adaptable & resourceful

          Proficient in Syndicated Data Tools (SPINS, Nielsen, Retailer Portals)

          Ability to travel extensively throughout the western United States

              Sales Coordinator

              Location: Santa Monica, CA                       Status: Full-Time        Start Date: Immediately

              Position Scope:  The Sales Coordinator will work closely with the Foodstirs Sales team in the planning, management, and execution of Retail Sales.  Position requires the ideal candidate to be entrepreneurial, scrappy and savvy to support, develop and identify opportunities to drive distribution and sales growth                           

              Major Responsibilities:

              1. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Foodstirs Sales; business policies, processes, and best practices to provide a high level of support to customers, partners and internal Sales team
              2. Review and adjust promotional activity (as needed) including, but not limited to:
                1. Entering promotional plan activity, Analysis and adjust base forecast for promotional activity, Analysis and adjust incremental forecast promotional activity, Review promotional activity for reporting and analysis with Field Sales team
              3. Customer portal entry and management
              4. Full lifecycle management of all promotional plans
              5. Resolve pricing discrepancies, deduction research & resolution 
              6. Weekly status and activity calls with Sales Managers & Merchandisers
              7. Coordinate the completion of other general sales administration requests received by Sales Managers, including but not limited to: New Item Forms, Cost Change Forms, Image Requests, Sample Requests, etc., Identify tactical sales administration implications for changing business conditions and rapidly execute (i.e. new products, pricing changes, etc.) 

              Other Responsibilities:

              1. Provide targeted executional focus and manage Foodstirs resources throughout the SoCal territory.
              2. Help support Regional Sales Manager to develop and execute best in class distribution incentive and promotional plans in SoCal territory
              3. When needed, schedule ride-alongs, market tours and store calls to identify and manage day to day relationships with retail accounts to achieve maximum market penetration.
